Guide
Five products that get sold as one.
The useful question is not “which brand is cheapest.” It is which job the address has to do. The notes below are category definitions used by the finder. They are not a statement that any named provider qualifies for a filing.
Digital mailbox
A commercial mail receiving agency accepts your mail at a real street, then lets you view, scan, forward, shred, or pick it up. USPS Form 1583 is the usual authorization. This is the right neighborhood for privacy and ordinary business mail. It is the wrong neighborhood when a bank, a licensing board, or Google requires a place you occupy.
Virtual business address
This is a mailbox plan marketed for a company name. Some providers explicitly warn against using it on an LLC or a bank application. Others say their customers do. Both can be true for different institutions. Treat every “use it for your LLC” sentence as a provider claim until the secretary of state or the bank says yes.
Staffed virtual office
A coworking center gives you an address inside a staffed building, often with a receptionist and meeting rooms. Mail may be included. Meeting hours may be zero on the base plan and bundled on a higher plan. It can be the right product when people need to visit. It is still not, by itself, a Google Business Profile.
Registered agent
A registered agent accepts lawsuits and state notices at a physical address during business hours. Some mailbox companies sell this as a paid add-on in named states. Buying the mailbox does not appoint the agent. The agent address and the public business address are often different.
Physical office
If the business needs its own staff on site every operating day, a mailbox and most virtual-office hours are the wrong shape. Look at coworking memberships or a lease. This site does not list vacant offices.
